Been there, done that. We only stayed a day and a half, but it was absolutely gorgeous. We were somehow able to get into the national park without having to pay, making that the second “free” national park so far… Where are you park rangers? The first day was pretty relaxing. We stayed at Colter Bay campground and had a grand view of the mountains.
We used the first day to relax and did laundry/caught up on much missed wifi/etc. We got some good local brews (one was even called Jenny lake after a lake in the park), and drank on the beach.
The second day was filled with exercise. We started with a 5-6 mile loop up to Inspiration Point, where we had a panoramic view of Jenny Lake. We even made some furry friends!! The chipmunks have obviously been pampered for a while because they were not scared of humans at all. Got nuts?
^^^Please enjoy chipmunk video. After making sure our friends were thoroughly stuffed, we finished up the loop and made it down by 2pm. We then inflated our kayak and spent the next hour and a half floating around in String Lake. There were lots of people using SUPs and swimming, but it was so cold! Jared decided to climb up on one of the rocks and jump into the water. The video wasn’t that interesting but he said he enjoyed it! All in all, a great time in Teton. The only bummer is that I didn’t see a moose 😦
