Recap of today: twelve hours later, we finally made it to middle of nowhere, Missouri. We pulled into the campground at 9:30 and it was bumping! People in the pool, youngsters playing horse shoe, etc.
The driving itself was long but manageable – already knocked out an audio book! The first major city we made it to – Saint Louis – was splendid (haha). Stopped across the river to see the full magnificent-cy of the Gateway Arch. (Picture below!)
If you ever find yourself in the city, we suggest trying the restaurant “fountain of the locust”! They had every ice cream dessert imaginable – even cocktails featuring ice cream (chocolate ice cream martini anyone?) Jared and I were pretty stuffed so instead we got the “world’s smallest ice cream cone” and “world’s smallest sundae” hehe.
Agenda for tomorrow: stopping in Kansas City for some good ol BBQ lunch, and then camping in Sioux Falls for the night.
